Wish ReferralWho can refer a child for a wish? Out of respect for the privacy of the children and families we serve, children who may be eligible to receive a wish can be referred by one of three sources:
Who is eligible for a wish? Any child between the ages of 2.5 and 18 who has been diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition, i.e. a progressive, degenerative or malignant medical condition that places their life in jeopardy. How does the wish-granting process work? Visit our How Wishes Are Granted page. How can I refer a child? If you would like to refer a child for a wish, you may use our online wish referral form. How is the privacy of the wish child and family handled? The Make-A-Wish Foundation respects the privacy of the children and families it serves. All medical information is considered confidential and is not discussed with outside parties unless it is required for the wish and the child's parent(s) or guardian(s) have given their consent. The child’s parent(s) or guardian(s) must also consent to the use of the child’s name or image for publicity purposes. |
