"I wish to have a college education."

Jeremy had to wait until he was 17 before he found out he was going to have his wish granted. A senior in high school, his first thoughts were of meeting celebrities and enhancing his car with some awesome accessories. But after thinking about his future and the opportunities that lie ahead of him, he wished for something that would continue to benefit him for years to come: a college education. He chose Jackson State University, the alma mater of his father and three older siblings.

This semester, when Jeremy was called to the President’s office, he didn’t know what to expect. He walked in and found himself surrounded by family, friends, and members of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Jackson State University, and BankPlus communities ready to congratulate him – his wish was being granted in the form of a year’s tuition! Along with this great news, he received other fun surprises like a football signed by the SWAC Champion JSU Tiger football team and dinner from his favorite restaurant. When asked what he felt that day upon having his wish granted, Jeremy’s response was simply, “Joy.” Jeremy has now completed his first semester at JSU with a 4.0 grade point average. He is interested in biology and is even considering being a doctor so that he can help give back to others.
