Make-A-Wish Foundation of Mississippi

I wish to ride a horse.

Seven year old Markell has had a tough life. Weekly blood transfusions and frequent trips to the hospital don’t leave much time for the adventure of childhood. So when asked what he wished for, he simply wanted one of the most pure childhood desires. Markell wished to ride a horse. Make-A-Wish® decided to make this the most memorable horse ride he could experience.

Markell’s magical experience began when the limo pulled up to the Jackson Hilton to take him to get decked out in cowboy attire at Boots & More. After he was properly outfitted, he went to lunch at Chimneyville BBQ and then on to visit rehearsal at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® circus followed by attending the circus that evening.

On day two Markell traveled to a farm in Utica, where he got to experience true “horsepower” when he rode a horse named Storm. Truly, Markell experienced pure joy when he got his wish!
